OUR STORY
Volcano Day was founded in 2017 by a local guide better known as "Chicharra". After working for different tour companies, he took a leap of faith and decided to start his own business. His mission was to do what he loves - hike volcanoes - and encourage locals, by showing them that they can also succeed on their own merits.
Volcano Day is the only tour operator in León that's 100% owned by Nicaraguans. We're run by a dedicated team of locals, with the help of international volunteers.
Our mission is to provide unforgettable hiking and camping adventures on volcanoes, and other fun outdoor experiences, in the North West of Nicaragua, to our guests from all over the world and of all ages.
