Born on the black slope
Volcano Day was founded in 2017 by a local guide better known as “Chicharra”. After working for different tour companies, he took a leap of faith and started his own, chasing his passion for volcano hiking while inspiring other locals to build something of their own.
Today we're the only tour operator in León that's 100% owned by Nicaraguans, run by a dedicated team of locals with the help of international volunteers. We deliver memorable hiking and camping adventures across Northwest Nicaragua for guests of all ages, from all over the world.
